Say you have 2 devices, both 1TB drives, and you just want to move all of those files from one to the other.
As was stated earlier in the thread, a lot of it also depends on whether you're doing a copy or a cut/paste and whether you're doing the operation(s) to the SAME or DIFFERENT filesystems.
If it's Windows, never rely strictly on the native GUI for file copy operations of large sizes like that. If your question is a practical question, then the answer is: If your question is merely academic in nature, then theoretically any recent OS would be able to copy an unlimited number / size of files up to the limit of the filesystem itself (NTFS is different from ETX3/4, is different from ZFS, etc) Personal: Windows OS to Windows OS (NTFS) 9.72 TB Around here, we copy files (practically) as a profession.
